This Privacy Policy explains how the personal data of users of WoWMecs, accessible through wowmecs.com, is collected, used, stored and protected.

2. Personal data we process
Depending on how you use WoWMecs, we may process the following categories of data:
- Account data: email address, username or nickname and data required for authentication and account management.
- Optional profile data: first name and surname when the user voluntarily chooses to provide them.
- World of Warships data: player nickname, identifiers associated with the game account, server, clan and data or statistics available through Wargaming or World of Warships services and APIs.
- WoWMecs activity data: information required to provide statistics, progress tracking, port information and other tools associated with the account.
- User-generated content: information included in posts from players looking for a clan, clan recruitment posts and other community features.
- Technical and security data: IP address, browser, device, technical logs, access dates and times and other information required to ensure the security and proper operation of the service.
- Communications: information provided by the user when contacting WoWMecs by email or through other available channels.
3. Source of the data
Some data is provided directly by the user when creating an account, completing a profile, using WoWMecs tools, publishing content or contacting us.
When the user links or identifies their World of Warships account, WoWMecs may obtain information and statistics related to that account through Wargaming or World of Warships services and APIs. This information is used to provide the WoWMecs features that depend on the user’s game data.
4. Purposes of processing
Personal data may be processed for the following purposes:
- Creating, maintaining and managing user accounts.
- Managing login and user profiles.
- Linking the user’s profile with their World of Warships account.
- Obtaining, processing and displaying statistics, progress, ships and other information related to World of Warships.
- Providing the tools and features available on WoWMecs.
- Allowing the creation, publication and management of player and clan posts.
- Facilitating interaction between players and clans through the features available on the platform.
- Handling enquiries, support requests and incidents.
- Preventing spam, abuse, unauthorised access, fraud and other harmful uses of the service.
- Maintaining the security, availability and proper technical operation of the platform.
- Complying with applicable legal obligations.
5. Legal basis for processing
The processing required to create and maintain an account, provide requested tools, link a World of Warships account and provide WoWMecs features is based on the performance of the relationship with the user and the provision of the services requested by the user.
Processing carried out to ensure platform security, prevent abuse, combat spam, maintain technical logs and protect the integrity of the service may be based on WoWMecs’ legitimate interest in maintaining a secure and reliable service.
When processing is required in order to comply with a legal obligation, the legal basis will be compliance with that obligation.
When consent is required for a particular purpose, such as the use of certain non-essential cookies or technologies, processing will only take place after such consent has been obtained. Consent may subsequently be withdrawn.
6. Required and optional data
An email address and username or nickname are required to create and manage a WoWMecs account.
First name and surname are optional data and users may choose not to provide them.
Linking a World of Warships account is only required in order to use WoWMecs features that depend on statistics or information associated with the game account.
7. Posts and publicly visible content
WoWMecs allows users to publish certain information relating, among other features, to looking for a clan or recruiting players.
Information that users choose to include in these posts may be visible to other users or website visitors, depending on the feature used.
Users should avoid including personal data belonging to themselves or third parties when such data is not necessary for the purpose of the publication.
8. Service providers and recipients of data
WoWMecs does not sell its users’ personal data.
Technology providers may be involved in providing, hosting and protecting the service and may process certain data to the extent necessary to provide their services:
- OVHcloud: provider of WoWMecs hosting infrastructure and email services. The main server currently used by WoWMecs is located in France.
- Cloudflare: provider of network, security, attack protection and content delivery services.
- Automattic / Akismet: spam protection service in forms, posts or other features in which it is integrated.
- Wargaming / World of Warships: provider and source of data relating to World of Warships accounts and statistics through its services and APIs.
Data may also be disclosed where required by law or when legitimately requested by a competent administrative, judicial or other authority.
9. Hosting and international data transfers
The main infrastructure used to host WoWMecs is currently located in France, within the European Union.
Some technology providers used by WoWMecs may operate through international infrastructure. Where processing involves an international transfer of personal data, the mechanisms and safeguards provided for by applicable data protection law will be used, such as adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally recognised instruments.
10. Data retention
Data associated with a user account will be retained while the account remains active and while it is necessary to provide the features requested by the user.
Data and statistics relating to World of Warships may be retained and updated while the game account remains linked or while they are required by the tools used by the user.
Posts made by players and clans will be retained while they remain active or until they are deleted by the user or by WoWMecs in accordance with the rules applicable to the service.
Technical and security logs will be retained for the period necessary to ensure security, prevent abuse and resolve incidents.
When a user requests the deletion of their personal data, the data will be deleted or anonymised where appropriate, unless certain information must be retained for an additional period in order to comply with legal obligations, address possible liabilities or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
11. User rights
Users may exercise, where applicable, their rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and data portability.
Where processing is based on consent, users may withdraw their consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal.
To exercise these rights or request the deletion of an account and the personal data associated with it, you may send a request to [email protected], clearly indicating the right or request you wish to exercise.
Where necessary to prevent data from being disclosed or modified by someone other than its owner, WoWMecs may request additional information reasonably necessary to verify the identity of the requester.
WoWMecs will process account deletion requests even though an automatic account deletion feature is not currently available from the user’s profile.
Users also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos) if they believe that the processing of their personal data does not comply with applicable law.
12. Data security
WoWMecs implements technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, disclosure or destruction, taking into account the nature of the data processed, the context of the processing and the risks involved.
13. Cookies and similar technologies
WoWMecs uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the operation of the website and may use other types of cookies when required for additional features.
Where a cookie or technology requires consent, it will not be used until the user has been given the opportunity to make a decision in accordance with applicable law.

14. Analytics and advertising
WoWMecs does not currently use Google Analytics or Google AdSense to analyse visitor behaviour or display personalised advertising.
WoWMecs uses Google Search Console as an administrative tool to monitor the website’s indexing status and performance in search results.
If analytics, advertising or other technologies involving new processing of personal data or requiring consent are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the Cookie Policy will be updated before those technologies are used.
15. Payment services
WoWMecs does not currently operate an active paid-services contracting system through Stripe.
If subscriptions, premium accounts, payments or other electronic contracting services are enabled in the future, information relating to the processing of data required to manage such payments will be incorporated into this Privacy Policy before the service is activated.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
WoWMecs may update this Privacy Policy when the platform’s features, service providers, data processing activities or applicable legal obligations change.
