These Terms of Use govern access to and use of WoWMecs, accessible through wowmecs.com, as well as the use of its accounts, tools and community features.
By using WoWMecs, users agree to comply with these Terms of Use and with applicable law.
1. About WoWMecs
WoWMecs is an independent platform dedicated to the World of Warships community that provides information, statistics, tools and features for players and clans.
The features currently available on WoWMecs are provided without an active paid subscription or contracting system.
2. Registration and user accounts
Some WoWMecs features require the creation of a user account.
Users are responsible for providing the information necessary to create and maintain their account and for keeping their access credentials confidential.
Accounts are personal and must not be used to impersonate other users, access third-party accounts without authorisation or carry out activities contrary to these Terms of Use.
If a user becomes aware of unauthorised access to their account or any related security issue, they should notify WoWMecs at [email protected].
3. Linking with World of Warships
Certain features allow a WoWMecs profile to be associated with information corresponding to a World of Warships account or player.
Users should only link accounts or profiles that legitimately belong to them or for which they are authorised to use the relevant information.
Some information displayed by WoWMecs may come from services, APIs or sources related to Wargaming and World of Warships and, therefore, its availability and updating may depend on third parties.
4. Permitted use of WoWMecs
WoWMecs must be used lawfully and with respect for other users and for the proper operation of the platform.
The following activities are not permitted:
- Using WoWMecs for unlawful or fraudulent activities.
- Impersonating other users or using another person’s account without authorisation.
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, data or restricted areas of WoWMecs.
- Deliberately interfering with the operation, security or availability of the platform.
- Introducing malware, malicious code or mechanisms intended to harm the website or its users.
- Carrying out abusive automated activity, attacks, mass extraction of information or generating traffic that may negatively affect the service.
- Using community features to send spam or abusive communications.
- Publishing unlawful content or content that infringes the rights of third parties.
5. Player and clan posts
WoWMecs may allow users to publish content related, among other things, to looking for clans, recruiting players and other community activities.
Users are responsible for the content they publish and must ensure that such content is lawful, appropriate and does not infringe the rights of third parties.
Users must not publish personal information belonging to other people without an appropriate lawful basis or sufficient authorisation, and should avoid including their own personal information where it is not necessary for the purpose of the publication.
Posts may be publicly visible or visible to other WoWMecs users depending on the feature being used.
6. Prohibited content
WoWMecs community publishing features must not be used to distribute content that:
- Is contrary to applicable law.
- Threatens, harasses or promotes harm against other people.
- Infringes intellectual property, privacy or other third-party rights.
- Contains third-party personal data published unlawfully.
- Is fraudulent, misleading or intended to facilitate scams.
- Contains malware, malicious links or mechanisms intended to compromise devices or accounts.
- Constitutes spam or abusive advertising unrelated to the purpose of WoWMecs features.
7. Content moderation
WoWMecs may review, hide, restrict or remove posts where there are reasonable grounds to believe that they violate these Terms of Use, applicable law, third-party rights or the security of the platform or its users.
WoWMecs may also take measures intended to prevent spam, abuse, fraud, unauthorised access or other behaviour that may harm the community.
8. Account suspension or restrictions
WoWMecs may temporarily restrict certain features or suspend an account where there are reasonable indications of fraudulent use, serious security issues, abuse of the platform or significant breaches of these Terms of Use.
Where circumstances allow, WoWMecs will seek to ensure that any measures taken are proportionate to the nature and seriousness of the issue identified.
9. User-provided content
Users retain any rights they may hold over content they publish on WoWMecs.
By publishing content through a WoWMecs feature, the user grants WoWMecs a non-exclusive authorisation, limited to what is necessary to provide that feature, to store, technically reproduce and display that content within the platform.
This authorisation does not transfer ownership of the content to WoWMecs.
10. Intellectual property
WoWMecs developments, tools, texts, designs, code and other original content are protected, where applicable, by intellectual and industrial property law.
Use of WoWMecs does not grant users ownership rights over these elements.
Trademarks, trade names, video games, content and other elements belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
11. World of Warships and Wargaming
WoWMecs is an independent project intended for the World of Warships player community.
References to World of Warships, Wargaming and their respective names, trademarks, content or data are made in connection with the features and content provided by the platform and do not, by themselves, imply ownership of those elements.
The specific Wargaming notice displayed on WoWMecs complements these Terms of Use.
12. Third-party information
WoWMecs may use information obtained from APIs, services or external sources.
Although WoWMecs seeks to provide accurate and up-to-date information, some data may experience delays, errors, changes or interruptions resulting from the external sources from which it originates.
Statistics, comparisons, calculations and other information provided by WoWMecs tools should be understood within this context.
13. Service availability
WoWMecs may carry out maintenance, updates or modifications to its features.
It cannot be guaranteed that all features will always be available or completely free from errors, particularly where they depend on services, APIs or infrastructure provided by third parties.
14. Liability
WoWMecs will seek to maintain the platform in appropriate working condition and to correct technical problems of which it becomes aware whenever reasonably possible.
WoWMecs will not be responsible for interruptions or errors resulting from circumstances outside its reasonable control, including failures or changes affecting external services or data sources.
Nothing in these Terms of Use is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
